Sometimes your computer just feels like a slug to use. Whether new or old there are some simple ways to speed up your computer and help yourself become more productive.

  1. Download and install PC Decrapifier

This allows you to select old and outdated software or even trial and junkware that is installed by the maker. They are paid for every sale so the amount of junk pre-installed grows every year.

  2. CleanUp from Steven R. Gould

This is an excellent utility which works on XP and Later versions of Windows. It will clear cookies, temp files, cache files and assorted junk files that can slow your machine. It is free but I have had some brilliant results from it and so have donated several times. Some machines that have never been cleaned have up to 5GB of junk clogging up smaller, older hard drives.

  3. Run a Security check

Install Malwarebytes and run an update. Then allow Malwarebytes to scan the system and remove any alerts presented.

  4. Install Updates

Using Microsoft update check for updated drivers for your system.

  5. Defrag your hard drive

Download and install Auslogics Disk Defrag and allow the program to perform a defragmentation to speed up your files.

The best work habit you can ever get into is very simple: Do your worst task first thing in the morning. Every given day, you’ve got one major to-do that’s highest priority. But when you’ve got the whole day stretching out ahead of you, it’s easy to put it off until after you get your coffee, check our email, or go to that meeting. But just like breakfast is the most important meal of the day, the first thing you accomplish at work sets the tone for the rest of the day.
